ZANDER FISHING HOLIDAYS
We now offer trolling for Zander or drift fishing , taking you out for the day all rods included plus all lures, you can bring some of your own to try if you wish. This has to be one of the best and most relaxing styles of fishing around. Not only do you get to see some superb fish landed, you also get to see parts of the river unseen by most of the anglers that travel to the Ebro. The shear cliffs of Mas de la Punta and the long carp riddled bays that are all along the inaccessible areas of the Ebro's fantastic river system. Zander too well over double figures are caught on a regular basis, and the few ways of catching them means you could hook up a few catfish as well.
DRIFTING
This involves the guide placing the boat over the inside ledges under the rocky areas. Then allowing the wind to take the boat out or drift out into deeper water the anglers let line out accordingly and listen to the guide telling them its getting deeper or lift due to rocky areas rising up.
TROLLING
As the title describes trolling is done with skill and ease, if the guide knows the area he can put you over the fish. Using the fish finder and excellent knowledge of the area, speed is of the essence knowing what the fish are doing , knowing how they are feeding. It is very important, as some days require a faster speed than others. Using up to three four rods in the boat multiple hook ups are common and the softer trolling rods with the lighter lines give a great fight.
VERTICAL JIGGING
This method has been used for many years all over the world. This is not as simple as it may sound and has a few complications. You see, anybody can simply lower a jig or jelly lure down to the murky depths and simply jig up and down, but to catch Zander and big Zander at that, you need some edge of skill to master this method. To much wind and its no good, you use the natural movement of the lure to deceitfully catch these crafty predators.
MAKE THE LURE WORK TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL
Using the lure to its full advantage gives you the edge, listen to the guide and be patient, as a patient and calm angler will always win on this method.
So now you have read some of the ways of wily Zander, we have other methods we can share with you when you are over here, enjoying the fantastic Ebro.
